You can buy the white 2.4ghz with the bigger 250gb hard disk for only $100 more than the middle model...so why does the black one cost an extra $100 on top of that? Lame...it makes me think that apple doesn't think much of its customer base.

Additionally, if you want to upgrade the white 2.4ghz to 4gb of memory, apple will charge you $400! That's gross; apple gets to keep the two 1gb sticks and give you two 2gb sticks for $400 dollars. Absolutely repulsive. Buy it standard and go to crucial.com (i know there are cheaper places) and you can get the same two 2gb sticks for just over $100. Plus YOU get to keep the original RAM modules in case somethings goes wrong, or to pop into a different compatible machine.

I bought the white model, thinking that the extra hundred dollars was indeed ridiculous. However, I didn't take any foresight into how repulsive my hands usually are. Depending on the kind of wear and tear you're going to put your macbook through, or how generally organized and tidy you are, color can be an important factor. Worth the extra hundred smackeroo's? Maybe not. However, the stained brown handprints in my current macbook definitely make me wish I had chosen the flat black exterior over the glossy white.
