Can you watch DVD's on your macbook?

Nope I removed my optical drive in favor of an extra hdd.

Yes you can! Just put your DVD in the side of you macbook (there should be a small slit which is where you insert the disc) you'll here some noises like clicking and stuff, but don't worry it just does that to bring the disc closer into the computer. Then, a small disc will appear on your screen and it might say the name of your movie, if it is a DVD and not a copy. Hope this info helped! :-)

type dvd player into spotlight search. slot in ya dvd and it should begin playing

This was really helpful! Yes, I actually tried this morning to play a movie (The Breakfast Club) on my macbook and it worked just fine. Although it wasn't quite the same as using my big screen in the basement, it was really cool and great for watching in the car! t doesn't drain too much battery as well, so that's a plus! :)
