i agree, hold two fingers on the trackpad and then click. That's how it has always been done.

Two-finger clicks do not always work, I suggest that people try it before claiming it does. While this post preceded the release of the new MacBook (and Pro)/Unibody MacBook/"Late 2008 MacBook", I thought I should mention that when running XP (Media Center, if it makes a difference) on a new MacBook Pro (OSX Leopard native) via Bootcamp, three fingers pressing the trackpad (which is also the button) is the only way that I have thus far been able to achieve a right click, and sometimes there's a considerable delay before a submenu appears. Note that if you change to 'Tap to click' in Boot Camp Control Panel, it will not affect multiple finger clicking, and therefore you will still have to press and click the touchpad (with three fingers) to achieve a right click.

Adam - you talk sense! Thank you for the 'real answer' - works perfectly with my new MacBook ;-)

Adam has it. Two fingers do not work with XP on new Macbook, but click with three fingers and the menu appears when you release.

Remember the ctrl+click for secondary button?
Jeez!

I have managed to right-click using single key-press.
By doing so, I can do right-click without using many fingers to do the job.

After much searching and trial and error, i can confirm that 2 finger click does indeed work on macbook pro unibody 2009.
Also, for those running off bootcamp, access bootcamp from control panel, then there are trackpad options. From there i have activated tap to click and 2 finger tap for right click (different to 2 finger press on physical button)
Hope it helps.

Three finger click is the only one that works on xp and windows 7.

Tyler, you're mistaken. I have a brand new Macbook Pro (Core i7) and the 2-finger + click works perfectly here with Windows 7.

Maybe I'm just failing, but neither two finger clicking nor three finger clicking makes a right click on my brand new macbook pro, running xp via bootcamp. Help?

After you use MAC boot camp to install Windows 7, when it finished installing Windows 7, insert your Panter MAC OS. It will automatically install Bootcamp and appropirate drivers.
After it instaaled the files needed you will have,
a-Boot camp
b-The trackpad and other apple drivers.
you reboot after bootcamp installation and then you can as usual;
press two finger on the trackpad and then click. It will give you right click. Also it will install bootcamp available in control panel and on system tray.
Quite intelligent program!

I have a old MacBook running Bootcamp on Win.XP.SP2. Even though I have a USB mouse, I still wanted the option to right click if I did not have a mouse on hand while travelling, and the trackpad is just annoying at times having to hold 2 fingers to get the Right-Menu open. After a bit of searching I found this just in case someone doesnt have a USB mouse AND your right-click (Trackpad) is not working for whatever reasons. This solution is for when you have nothing but the keyboard at hand, and macbooks dont have the convenience of the Right-click menu button on their keyboard, its replaced with an ENTER button next to the arrow keys. If you are fairly familiar with using a keyboard for navigationa dn moving around (Alt/TAB/Ctrl/Arrow key combinations) then this should be a sinch. The Solution is to move to the highlighted icon/object, and then press SHIFT+F10. This acts just like a right-click button found on most common keyboards (tht macbook doesnt have) and exactly like a right-click on a mouse or trackpad (bootcamp enabled)!
WINDOWS Right Click using keyboard (No Mouse)
-------------------------------------------------------------
In Windows using your keyboard use the TAB and arrow keys to highlight the icon or file you want to right click on. Once you have the file or icon highlighted press and hold down the SHIFT key and while you press the SHIFT key, press the F10 key and it will bring up the right click menu.
MAC Right Click using keyboard (You need a mouse)
------------------------------------------------------------------
On your Mac to bring up the right click menu simply press and hold down the CTRL key and click the mouse button and it will bring up the menu. On the Mac you have to use the mouse button in conjunction with the keyboard to get the right click since there is no way to do it just with the keyboard.
For anyone interested in other solutions to their problems, I think this site is helpful indeed. I found this information at:
The answer is really simple for the macbook pro, click with 3 fingers for right click and 1 finger for left click.

I have a new MacBook Pro running Bootcamp and Windows 7. I cannot right click and have tried every item listed above. What else can I do? I beginning to think Bootcamp is not configured correctly. I have done research as well and have no clue as to where to go from here. I guess back to Best Buy and hope they know what do do.

Cathy -
I had the same problem. No matter what I did (and I'm not computer illiterate!), right clicking never worked! I ended up completely uninstalling Windows 7 and reinstalling it. It seems that the drivers didn't install correctly, so it was just a matter of reinstalling everything and being sure to use the drivers disc that came with the mac. Hopefully that helps you!
