How long do I need to charge the battery when I get my MacBook Pro for the first time?

You can begin using the mac as soon as you get it after you plug it into power. Let it charge until the orange light on the magsafe power adapter shows green.

This is what I do. When I first buy it, I just keep using it until it dies out. Then, I charge it for overnight and the next morning, I check the battery. If it's 100% full, let it charge for another few hours then you can use it!

This is what I do. When I first buy it, I just charged it for 2 hours. Than I put it in a hot water bath for 2 more hours. Remove from the hot water bath and let cool in the freezer for 10 minutes. Now you can remove it from the freezer and place it on warm compost. Spray a little Azomite fertilizer on top and water frequently for the next couple of days. Once it sprouts you water once a day until new batteries apear as tufts on the shaft of the LiPlant. Now you have a continous power supply. I hope this helps!

After the unboxing, I normally use the MacBook Air straightaway. Don't worry about the battery too much. When the battery is out this what I usually do, I recycle it and get a new one from the nearest Apple store.
