I have a bad battery on my 15" macbook, which batteries were on recall?

Question posted by mel on March 31st, 2008

place the battery on a flat surface. push down on one side of the battery. If the other side lifts up then your battery is defective and can be taken back for a replacement. If however it remains flat when you push down on one side then you'll just have to buy a new battery.

we have had it looked at and they told me to replace the battery where can i get a good price on my new battery and do they need to be on a surface when being used that gives them airflow when in use . my daughter will use on her bed and i worry it may have overheated due to lack of airflow under the computer ? thaks terisa

I have a student Macbook and my battery gets very hot even after I use it only for 15 minutes. I'm afraid it's going to overheat. What shall I so? Thanks
