yeah.. mine as well as my friends macbook did the same thing. It has to do with all the empty realestate in the palm rests of the macbooks. they just where out from beeing pushed on. It's really common.

Yes, and it causes those so afflicted to incorrectly spell common words in online postings. Try lifting your plams and touch typing like you're supposed to do...

this has happened to me twice and i need to go in again because i have a one inch crack again. this is my first mac and i've had it five months

Order the alternate colour and make your mac more multicoloured. I have a white one and a black upper case then put the white keys back in it and it looks sick. Only took about 30 minutes to complete. Gets plenty of looks.

Mine cracked after a couple of months, but Apple said that they'd fix it for free......But I have to send the computer away for 10 days.
