snap the front screen stuff on the inside off, put a transluscent swatch of color there, like a colored/translucent plastic folder and then snap the front back on, and voila! my ex used to do it to his so that does work i guess

If your macbook is really old and you don't care if it gets ruined, you unscrew the top off and get cellophane paper (any colour you want) and hurrah! a red apple logo
